NGO MANT participated in "Days of Science and Innovation " Festival with following projects: 

1. Biomedical Engineering Corner

  Within the Biomedical Engineering Corner, a series of activities aimed at the promotion of biomedical engineering was held. On the first day, in the premises of UpBeatHub in Podgorica, starting at 15:30, scientists from the field of biomedical engineering did hold lectures on the scope and possibilities provided by biomedical engineering, after which a special training was held, where students and young researchers were present different medical instruments and teach everyone interested in their development. Those present had a unique opportunity to get acquainted with the first Montenegrin biomedical product "Syntrofos", which monitors the symptoms of Covid-19 infection.

2. Biomedical Engineering Kiosk

• Content:

On September 29, 2023, in the premises of the Gimnasium Slobodan Škerović in Podgorica, as part of the European Night of Researchers, a special Biomedical Engineering Kiosk will be set up, where all interested parties will be able to familiarize themselves with products and ideas from the field of biomedical engineering as well as other scientific and development disciplines that deals with the Montenegrin Association for New Technologies - MANT, including international projects, summer schools and conferences, which MANT, together with its partners, is the organizer of. This will give all those interested the opportunity to use the promising scientific discipline of biomedical engineering and its development opportunities, but also with concrete ways to start, support or further develop their scientific and/or innovative career.

University of Banja Luka was the host of the final VIRAL Project workshop meeting from 19-20 July 2023. Meeting agenda was split in two parts: technical and in-field.

On the first day, the project results were analyzed and there was a discussion about preparing the final narrative and financial report between partners' representatives and steering committee members. At the same time, young collaborators who are actively involved in the use of ICT in agriculture have presented their work.

The second day was dedicated to field activities where participants learned about the use of ICT in regular agricultural production in two big companies - Agro Impex and Agro Voće. Participants also had the opportunity to learn about the use of equipment acquired through the VIRAL project, as well as the activities of the Smart Water project implemented by the Faculty of Agriculture by visiting their educational mixed-varieties orchard. Gala dinner was served in newly opened restaurant in Agro Voće company.

 

MANT attended the 3rd EPS-TIG Hands-on-Science, Technology, and Interface Workshop and the 1st Montenegro Detector R&D for Future Accelerators Summer School (7-9 July), held in Petrovac, Montenegro, where it presented the VIRAL project and its work.
The event is organized under the auspices of the European Society of Physicists. It is organized by the Technological Innovation Group of the European Society of Physicists in collaboration with CERN, the National Institute for Nuclear Energy, INFN from Italy, and the European Laser Research Infrastructure ELI Beamlines, ELI ERIC from Prague.
Experiments conducted by experts in the area state-of-the-art laser technology (from ELI ERIC) were presented, and MANT has took an active part in the workshop and has presented it's own scientific research work and VIRAL project during the introductory part.

 

MANT has participated in The 42^nd RD50 Workshop on Radiation Hard Semiconductor Devices for Very High Luminosity Colliders, which took place from 20-23 June 2023 in Tivat, Montenegro.
Research projects of CERN-based RD50 Collaboration are related to innovation, development and production of state-of-the-art detectors, resistant to high-level radiation, with exceptional space-time resolution that would enable better sensitivity in detecting the existing particles, higher precision in measuring and discovery of new particles, which was not possible with the technologies used so far.
Keynote speeches, scientific presentations, panel discussions, and a dedicated project dissemination session were conducted, facilitating knowledge exchange, collaboration, and networking among stakeholders.
Montenegrin Association for New Technologies was introduced, and VIRAL project objectives, activities and outcomes were presented by MANT's representative Jovan Djurkovic.
The workshop served as an effective event for disseminating the VIRAL project.

Workshop in Vienna related to the Comparative analyses of electric mobility in the European Union/Western Balkan Higher Education Institutions – problems and needs in the Western Balkan (within WP2), will be held from May 8 until May 10, 2023. The organizer of the workshop is Technical University of Vienna.
During the Workshop the first meetings of Steering Committee and Project Management Committee will be held.

Kick-off meeting of the CBHE project Partnership for Promotion and Popularization of Electrical Mobility through Transformation and Modernization of WB HEIs Study Programs was held at the University of Priština in Kosovska Mitrovica on Wednesday and Thursday, 1st and 2nd of March 2023. Meeting participants were welcomed and greeted by Rector of University of Priština - prof dr Nebojša Arsić, who said that he expects the project obligations to be fulfilled in time. He has also announced that within a project, a mobile laboratory will be built in University of Priština, which will include all the resources for electrical mobility so that students and ordinary people have the opportunity to learn about it.

Afterwards sessions were led by Aleksandra Petrović, who is ERASMUS+ officer UPKM, where she explained all the necessary details about project rules and deadlines. All the project partners were present on the initial meetings where planned activities were discussed thoroughly in order to ensure the consolidation of all the projects partners.

MANT representatives Jovan Đurković and Ivan Stojanović have attended the meeting and took part by presenting their company to the other project partners.

This year's MATA Award winner for contribution in development and promotion of new technologies in Montenegro is dr ing Dragan Žarković.

Dragan Žarković is a construction engineer and doctor of science in the field of technical management, work organization and sustainable development.

"In his thirty-year career, in the country and abroad, he performed a wide range of jobs in the construction profession: from the execution and management of construction works, expert supervision, investment construction, design, revision of project documentation, assessments, expert reports, etc., at various types of construction facilities. So far, he has realized over 230,000 m2 of residential-business, industrial-commercial and hotel-tourist spaces.

Žarković enthusiastically applied his professional and scientific knowledge abroad and in Montenegro. He helped a large number of workers and experts from our area to earn their earnings, during the most difficult economic and war crises. Through his business contacts, about twenty different investment projects were invested and realized in Montenegro, with a total value of over 55 million euros," said Stojanović.

"His views on the problems of construction, from the point of view of a practicing builder, made a significant contribution to theoretical science and the general development of technical and engineering culture. The recently published book "Corporate Management of Investment Ventures" is the first book in contemporary Montenegro that unifies the rather forgotten methodology of symbiosis, profession, science, planning, work organization and sustainable development. Hundreds of the most complex expert reports and evaluations were important in elucidating many conflicting situations and in the successful resolution of as many court-prosecutorial proceedings in the country and abroad.

Besides many functions that he previously performed, today, in addition to his basic activity, he performs the functions of: president of the Independent Association of Court Experts of Montenegro, member of the Board of Directors of the Union of Employers of Montenegro and Director of the Association of Builders of Montenegro. He is widely cited in professional literature. In his private and family life, Dragan is an exemplary and conscientious father of three children and the husband of an equally successful married partner," said Stojanović.
